A fully paved 18 mile ride that leads to Rock Creek State Park via downtown Grinnell, Iowa, the Rock Creek Recreational Trail boasts low traffic, low climbs as well as beautiful scenery. Get an early start with your favorite hot beverage at Saints Rest Coffee then check in for this ride at the Iowa Bicycle Coalition member Bikes to You bike shop. There is plenty of free parking in downtown Grinnell and great places for lunch; we especially recommend Prairie Canary.
If you have the time, pay a visit to the Grinnell College campus, which has stunning architecture and beautiful landscaping. Speaking of architecture, the Louis Sullivan Jewel Box Bank is a one of a kind building that you shouldn’t miss while you’re exploring Grinnell.
Rock Creek State Park offers water and restroom facilities as well as camping, should you decide to stay a while.
